Took My Car Back In — MS Loaner Thoughts

I dropped my car back off this morning to have them look at my FWD issue again. I also figured now would be a good time to have them fix my misaligned brightwork on the driver’s side.

I got a Model S P85D as a loaner this time. I have to say I like my MX much better. For some reason, the S feels ‘heavier’.Every time I’ve ever gotten in a Model S, I have always felt this ‘heaviness’ even as a passenger. I think part of this is because the S likely has spring suspension instead of air suspension. That’s the only thing I can think of. That plus the larger wheels on the S make it feel rougher and not as sublime as the X, if that makes any sense.

BTW, for the record it is much harder to get out of a Model S than a Model X 🙂

But, this car has AP1, apparently. How do I know? Because it actually works worth a damn. The display isn’t jittery, it steers much smoother, and it can make it across an intersection without wanting to veer to the left. AP2 is way behind AP1. If they had kept going with the MobileEye stuff, I think the thought of getting full self-driving (FSD) by the end of the year would have been not that out there. But now… I picture it happening in 3-5 years based on what AP2 looks like right now.
