They Still Have My Car

I took my car in on Tuesday morning to have the passenger FWD sensor looked at. They actually called me back in a few hours and said it was all set and they were emailing me an invoice, etc. I just said OK and hung up, but later I read the invoice and it said they found no issue. Hmmm. They also claimed to have pulled logs from a day that I never even opened the door. Since I knew that door was failing, I haven’t really used it much, so pulling the logs from the day mentioned wasn’t going to help. And I just knew that if I picked it up it would probably happen again right away, as it is the way of things. 🙂

So I called them up and told them what day they should really pull the logs from. The guy I spoke to said he’d go check it out and test it more. Later he called to tell me it was a good thing I called because it finally failed for them.

The next day, they replaced the sensor and claimed to need it for another day to make sure it wasn’t still happening. I said fine, since obviously I don’t want to come back for the same problem. He said he’d call me around 11am on Thursday (today).

Well, he did call and left me a message that it apparently just happened again, so they’ve escalated to engineering and need to wait for them to get back to him to tell them what to do next. This means they definitely need my car at least until tomorrow and possibly into next week.

All because of a sensor-related issue. Bleh.

I do appreciate the guy at the service center. He has been friendly and does what he says he’ll do. And he doesn’t want me to have to come back for the same issue either.

But meanwhile, I am driving a less-than-stellar Volvo S80. I cannot get my car back soon enough. Nothing makes you appreciate your Tesla like driving a really bad ICE car.
